Spiritual Awakening Signs & Symptoms
What is a Spiritual Awakening?
A spiritual awakening is an expanding of consciousness and spiritual awareness. It is a process in which you recognize your inner voice or inner being and begin to still your mind/thoughts. It is a higher awareness. A transformation and/or sudden spiritual growth. This can be triggered by a traumatic spiritual event such as a near death experience (dying & then coming back to life) or out of body experience (being aware or conscious while out of your body; which can occur during a coma, sleep, or while unconscious). It can also occur after hitting rock bottom & finding your way out with the recognition & help of higher power(s) (such as overcoming addiction or mental illness) or due to overcoming major physical injury or illness. It is a spiritual metamorphosis, a shifting within you. Spiritual awakenings can also come on more slowly, like it did for me.
I have always been a spiritual seeker but nothing really fully made sense, it always seemed like there was so much more out there but I just wasn't finding it yet or it was just out of reach. Things did not begin aligning until my late 30s, and in the past few years I began connecting the dots & have found so many universal truths & had so many epiphanies. My voracious appetite for knowledge, need to better understand, and spiritual experiences culminated into a quickening of spiritual growth. Now I am on a spiritual path toward enlightenment, and hopefully eventual ascension (that is the goal).
The 5 Stages of Spiritual Awakening:
1. Unconsciousness
2. Ego Death (Death of Selfish Separate Self)
3. The Search (Quest for Understanding & Universal Truths)
4. Emergence of Authentic Self (Heightened Awareness of what genuinely aligns with true Inner Being)
5. Life of Alignment (Harmonious Integration of oneself with surrounding world)
What are the Signs & Symptoms of Spiritual Awakening?

- Multidimensional Experiences
- Kundalini Rising Experience(s) - like a spiritual epiphany that leaves you feeling hot (sometimes dizziness/vertigo/disorientation), often followed by back aches & head aches
- Embracing one's authentic self (inner being)
- Self-compassion becomes a guiding principle
- Unselfishly Loving (wanting & seeking best or highest possible outcome for all)
